Texel

Tickets for the ferry from Den Helder to Texel and back can be purchased at the TESO ferry terminal in Den Helder. It is not possible to book the ferry in advance. All tickets include the return journey.

Your ticket will not be checked on Texel. The trip takes around twenty minutes. Boats depart all day long during the timetable at half past the hour from Den Helder and on the hour from Texel.

An extra boat sails during busy periods: a ferry every half hour in each direction.

Public transport

Texel can be reached by public transport by taking the train to Den Helder station. There is a bus to the port from there. When coming from the north(east) Netherlands, the quickest route to Den Helder is by bus over the Afsluitdijk. Change at Den Oever to get to Den Helder.

There is a connecting bus service from the train station in Den Helder to the ferry terminal at 10 minutes past the hour.

Vlieland

MS Vlieland

Tickets for the ferry from Harlingen to Vlieland and back can be bought easily at www.rederij-doeksen.nl, by telephone at 0031-562 442002 or at our terminals. It’s recommended to book in advance, because then you don’t have to wait in line at our terminals, plus you’re secured from a place on board. You can choose between big ferries with catering facilities and comfortable quick express services. Welcome on board!

Public transport

Vlieland can be reached by train from Harlingen Haven Station. This station is only a short walk from the ferry terminal. Passengers who want to come to the terminal by train, will have to take the bus from Harlingen station to the terminal until June 2010, because of work at the tracks. From the provinces North Holland and South Holland, it might be quicker to take the bus over the Afsluitdijk to Harlingen Haven.

The train connects with the standard ferries and to some express boats: all these trains arrive at Harlingen Haven from Harlingen Station. Not all buses connect to the ferries.

Terschelling

Tickets for the ferry from Holwerd to Ameland and back can be bought at the Wagenborg Passagiersdiensten terminal desk in Holwerd. The trip takes around 45 minutes. The ferries have plenty of capacity for foot passengers, so there’s no need to make a reservation in advance. However, we recommend making a reservation well in advance for cars and caravans by calling the reservations desk at Wagenborg (0031 519 546111).

Ameland is easily reached by taking the bus to Holwerd Haven from Leeuwarden train station. It takes you to the terminal building.

Schiermonnikoog

MS Rottum

Tickets for the ferry from Lauwersoog to Schiermonnikoog and back are available at the Wagenborg Passagiersdiensten ticket office in Lauwersoog. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes. Bicycles are allowed on the boat, motor vehicles aren't allowed.

Public transport

For trips to Schiermonnikoog, the port in Lauwersoog is best reached by bus from Groningen train station or Leeuwarden train station. It takes you to the terminal building.
