Oost-Vlieland, historic yet modern

The historic character of Oost-Vlieland has been well preserved, and the heritage village title is certainly justified. The first reference to Oost-Vlieland dates back to 1245, and you’ll still find many historic buildings here today. Take Tromp’s Huys for example, a museum which relates Vlieland’s history. The island has been seriously upgraded in recent years, which is reflected in Oost-Vlieland, where the standard of the shops, cafes, restaurants and other entertainment is excellent.
