Schiermonnikoog
Schiermonnikoog, authentic village
The authentic setting of the village of Schiermonnikoog, virtually carless, is great for relaxing in a (pavement) cafe or in one of the restaurants. The only village on the island was built around 1760 to replace Westerburen, which had been flooded by the sea. The historic character has been preserved so well that Schiermonnikoog has been designated a heritage village. However, time has not stood still. You’ll find all the shops you need during your holiday.
